Ascending the corporate ladder… that was my goal.
It’s a question I never asked myself.
I was unconsciously working late, stressing over deadlines, checking in to the office on weekends, sacrificing a social life, putting work before friends and family… why?
I don’t know … I never stepped back to consider it. I just thought that was the right way to live my life.
Is that what success looks like?
Whenever we’re making sacrifices, or doing something that takes up precious time, we sometimes forget to ask ourself why.
Many people forget to ask this question, and only start to question things when they’re too old to make a change.
I got my wake up call in 2019, when after a year on a demanding project, under constant stress, I started to develop a health issue.
Valuing my health enormously, I knew I had to take a step back and ask myself if it was all worth it.
In short, for me, it isn’t.
We only live ONE LIFE, and our youth is short lived.
TIME TRULY IS PRECIOUS
OUR HEALTH IS EVERYTHING
