My goal is to fill this blog with epic hikes from all across the globe. However, like any big goal, it’s important to take one step at a time. With this, the first hikes will be located in my home country, Scotland. With time, as I become more experienced and knowledgable, I’ll take on more demanding adventures, fulfilling my goal of seeing as much of the natural world as possible.

There are many sites that will simply provide a description of common hikes. I’ve chosen to provide something a little different. I hope my unique approach also adds value to you, the reader. In each post I’ll be sharing a story of my trip, covering the highs, the lows and everything in between. As the hikes become more challenging, I’m certain there’ll be many challenging moments to overcome. Strange as it may sound, that’s what I’m after, finding the limits of my potential.

There will be a good amount of variety between the hikes, including summit camps, staying in mountain bothies, multi-day hikes and loops. I’ll be providing a link in each post for you to download the trail to your phone.

The Cairngorms National Park, the largest in the UK, lies in the heart of Scotland. In terms of hiking, The Cairngorms, both north and south, are basically huge, high-level plateaus dissected by a number of large, ice formed features such as U shaped valleys and corries.
